Music

The purpose of the Music Ministry of Calvary Independent Church is to glorify the Lord through the use of the God-given talents that he has seen fit to bestow us.

Through special music in our services, to the Christmas and Easter programs that are presented, the goal is to reflect the character of God. We firmly believe that music is an integral part of the ministry of the church. We are commanded to:

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with Praise."
~ Psalm 100:4a

We are called to:

“Serve the Lord with Gladness and to come before his presence with singing."
~ Psalm 100:2

For He has:

“put a new song in our mouth and praise unto our God that many shall see it and fear and shall trust in the Lord."
~ Psalm 40:3

Adult Choir – Our adult choir singers are members of our church and sing a broad range of songs that are differing in difficulty levels. The choir sings a special in our Sunday morning service. Our choir practices are held on Sunday nights after Evening Services

Solo and Ensemble Singing – Calvary Independent Church has several members that serve the Lord by singing solos or with groups of two or more. There are several musicians that accompany special music of this format. Practice is arranged with an accompanist.

Solo and Ensemble Instrumental – Instrumentals are also another way our musicians use their talents in service to God. The people that play instrumental music range from those in the very early stages of training to those that are much more proficient with their instruments. All are welcomed.
